Funeral services are tentatively set for Tuesday for Alva Frank Coon, 82, formerly of 1314 Black Hawk St., who died of a heart ailment Friday at 10:15 p. m. at the home of a son, Alvae, of 327 W. 10th St. Friends may call after Sunday noon at the Parrott & Wood Funeral Home.

Mr. Coon was born July 15, 1876, a son of Hiram and Sophronia Coon. He married Gertie Colvin Dec. 16, 1916, at Albert Lea, Minn., and came to Waterloo following his marriage.

He was employed from 1912 to 1941 by the Illinois Central Railroad and during the following 10 years was employed by the Waterloo Fuel Co. He retired in 1951.Since 1956, he made his home with a daughter, Mrs. A. R. Wood, of Shell Rock.

Surviving in addition, to the son, Alvae, and the daughter, Mrs. Wood, is another daughter, Mrs. Joseph Ferreira*, of Paramus, N. J., and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one daughter and two sisters.

Funeral services for Alva Frank Coon, 82. who died of a heart ailment Friday night, will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, at the Parrott & Wood Funeral Home. The Rev. John M. Aeby, pastor of the Grace Brethren church, will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
