Mrs. Marie Nielsen, 70, widow of Nicholas Nielsen, who formerly operated a bakery at 1111 East Fourth, died at 10:45 p. m. Saturday at her home, 327 High Street. She had been bedfast for the past eight years, following a stroke of apoplexy.

Marie Jorgensen was born in Denmark on April 9, 1874. She was married to Nicholas Nielsen on Jan. 29, 1891, at Copenhagen, Denmark. They came to America in 1903. Her husband died on Aug. 19, 1929.

She was a member of St. Ansgar's Danish Lutheran church.

Surviving are one son, Lt. Nicholas Nielsen, stationed at Newport News, Va.; four daughters, Mrs. June Anderson, 327 High Street; Mrs. Ethel Christiansen, 1203 West 12th Street, Cedar Falls; Mrs. Mildred Wren, 823 Reber Avenue and Mrs. Myrtle Mussett, 702 North Barclay Street. Ten grandchildren also survive.

Besides her husband, one daughter preceded her in death in 1926.

The body was taken to the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements await arrival of the son.

Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Petersen Bros. Funeral Home for Mrs. Marie Nielsen, 70, who died last Saturday at her home, 327 High Street. Rev. Arthur E. Frost, pastor of St. Ansgar Danish Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery [Waterloo].
