LA PORTE CITY - Edith M. Reiter, 76, of La Porte City, died Saturday, June 7, 2008, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home of pancreatic cancer.

She was born June 2, 1932, in Black Hawk County, Cedar Township, daughter of Harold and Dolly Wallace Foulk. She married Clem L. Reiter on Nov. 7, 1950, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Waterloo.

She retired after 20 years from the La Porte City Nursing and Rehab Center as a med aide. She enjoyed quilting and crafting. Her love was donating her time and talents to the La Porte City Nursing and Rehab bazaar.

Survived by her husband; two sons, David of Mount Auburn and Larry (Georgia) of La Porte City; five daughters, Vicky Baum of Lakeville, Minn., Deborah Stern, Lori (Jim) Clark and Tina (Lynn) Hanna, all of La Porte City and Barbara (Marc) Lattin of Cedar Falls; 17 grandchildren; a stepgranddaughter; 13 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert H. Foulk of La Porte City.

Preceded in death by her parents; two sons-in-law, Ronald Baum and Steve Stern; and a sister-in-law, Virginia Foulk.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in West View Cemetery, both in La Porte City. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at church, where there will be a 6 p.m. rosary and a 7:30 p.m. Scripture service. Visitation also for an hour before services. La Porte City Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice, La Porte City Nursing and Rehab Center or Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Porte City.
