WATERLOO - Irene E. Leach, 87, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at Lakeview Landing of natural causes.

She was born Nov. 12, 1920, in Nashville, Tenn., daughter of Cecil and Fleeta Krantz Ragland. She married Dale Leach on June 25, 1942, in Baltimore. He died Feb. 1, 2006.

Mrs. Leach was employed as a dental assistant for Dr. Terry Edwards, and previous to that for Dr. Marshal Davenport. She was a member of Central Christian Church and helped with Sunday School. She also had been a 50-year member and past president of Eastern Star Waterloo Chapter since 1953.

Survived by a daughter, Dana (Brian) Sinram of Des Moines; three sisters, Gloria Duran, Zelma Lee Wheeler and Anna Mae Haddock; and a brother, Jerry Ragland.

Preceded in death by two sisters, Olean Butler and Mary Francis Ragland; and three brothers Henry, Charles and William E. Ragland.

Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Locke Funeral Home, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation for an hour before services Friday at the funeral home. The family will greet friends after services at Friendship Village.
