CEDAR FALLS - Emly Steege, 95, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, June 26, 2014, at NewAldaya Lifescapes.

She was born Jan. 10, 1919, in Denver, Iowa, daughter of C.F. and Caroline Stolte Boedeker. She married Harold H. Steege on March 18, 1942, in Santa Anna, Calif.; he died Jan. 20, 1978.

Emly was a custodian for 30 years at Fredsville Lutheran Church, retiring in 1999.

Survived by two sons, Dean (Onalee) and Glenn (Carol), both of Cedar Falls; four grandchildren, Laura Steege, Nathan (Jennifer) Steege, Matthew (Jessi) Steege and Nick (Amanda) Steege; and eight great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Ernst, Walter, Henry, Hugo and Martin Boedeker; and four sisters, Frida Boedeker, Ida Burkhardt, Bertha Doepke and Esther Mitchell.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Monday at Fredsville Lutheran Church, with burial in Fredsville Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and an hour before services Monday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church and Shriner’s Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
