EVANSDALE - Erwin L. Schellhorn, 85, of Evansdale, died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center, Waterloo.

He was born April 24, 1920, in Sumner, son of Henry F. and Wilhelmina Warnke Schellhorn. He married Berdina B. Meier on Dec. 3, 1945. She died June 11, 1996.

A U.S. Amy veteran of World War II, Mr. Schellhorn retired from Rath Packing as a forklift operator.

Survived by three sons, Arlan (Linda) of Elk Run Heights, Larry of Waterloo and Vern (Judy) of Jesup; two daughters, Judy (Al) Bass and Theresa (Marty) Braby, both of Waterloo; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and five brothers, Roland of Sumner, Willhart (Janetta) of Oelwein, Lorenz (Virginia) and Arnold (Lorna), both of Oran, and Orlyn (MarvaJean) of Clarksville.

Preceded in death by two brothers in infancy, Marvin and Laverne; and two sisters, Adeline Schellhorn and Esther Niemeyer.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church, with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Military rites will be conducted by Evansdale AMVETS Post 31 and Waterloo AMVETS Post 19. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, Waterloo, and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
