WATERLOO - Romaine L. Janssen, 74, of Waterloo, died Monday, June 16, 2014, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

He was born April 28, 1940, in Hampton, son of Wallace and Marjorie Johnson Janssen. He married Romajean Hamann on May 6, 1961, in Gladbrook.

Romaine was employed with Waterloo Wilbert Burial Vault Co. for 25 years.

Survived by his wife; a son, Randy of Urbana; two daughters, Deb (Jeff) Yanz of Lee’s Summit, Mo., and Janet (Mike) Shock of Buckingham; four grandchildren, Ashley and Austin Yanz, Christy Janssen-Davis and Kenny Wilson; two stepgrandchildren, Alexis and Johnathan Shock; and a brother, Ruben of Ackley.

Preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Arlys Janssen.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls, with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery, Gladbrook. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and an hour before services Friday at the funeral home.
