Word has been received here of the death of Mrs. William Seaton, 58, former resident of Waterloo, at 6 p. m. Monday in Chicago at the home of her daughters, Mrs. William Pieper and Miss Mildred Seaton, with whom she resided. Death followed a four-years' illness with diabetes.
Born as Lora Matthews on Jan. 20, 1885, on a farm near Bingham, Ill., the daughter of Jebe and Leona [Skeen] Matthews, she was married to William Seaton on March 16, 1904 in Bingham; came to Fairbank, Ia., and upon the death of her husband on July 28, 1934, moved to Waterloo to reside with her son, Delbert Seaton, Route 6. She had resided in Chicago since 1940.
Mrs. Seaton was a member of the Universalist church.
Surviving, besides the two daughters with whom she made her home, are two other daughters, Mrs John Zikmund of Piano, Ill., and Mrs. Walter Botts of Vancouver Wash.; a son, Delbert, Route 6 and her mother, Mrs. Leoma Matthews in Bingham. Also surviving are two stepdaughters, Mrs. L. C. Baker, 215 Polk Street, and Mrs. George E. Hick, 242 Madison Street, and a step-son, Gordon S. Seaton, 816 Fowler Street.
Also surviving are five sisters four brothers and 11 grandchildren
The body was expected to arrive in Waterloo Tuesday evening and will be taken to the O'Keefe & Towne Funeral Home.
