Clayton Ted Bulmer, 75, of 2500 Bever Ave. S.E., Cedar Rapids, died at Mercy Medical Center, Monday, January 9, 2006, after a sudden illness. Services: 1 p.m. Friday at Turner East Funeral Home & Crematory by the Rev. Gary Boe. Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife Linda; four children, Barbara (Bob) Freeman and Clayton Chris (Tina) Bulmer, all of Cedar Rapids, Bill (Tari) Bulmer of Dallas, TX, and Beth Bulmer of Milwaukee, WI; a stepson, Mark (Lisa) Friesen of Shakopee, MN; two brothers, Robert Bulmer of Wheatland, MO, and Gerald Bulmer of Waterloo; a sister, Jean Rogers of Waterloo; and eight grandsons, Christopher, Sam, Tom, Jacob, Daniel and John Michael Bulmer and Hunter and Connor Friesen.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia; two sisters, Helen Mae Ayers and Donna Taylor; and a brother, Roger Bulmer.

Ted was born June 16, 1930, in Waterloo to Clayton and Rose Marie Heide Bulmer. He married Patricia Ann Whelan in Waterloo in March 1952. She died in June 1982. He married Linda Friesen in Cedar Rapids on December 3, 1983. He attended General Command Staff College and Iowa State Teachers College. He retired as a colonel in the Iowa National Guard serving more than 30 years and as a manager at Rockwell-Collins.

Ted was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church, the Elks Club, El Kahir Shrine, the Exchange Club, and was a 32nd degree Mason. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and time spent at the Mississippi River in Guttenberg, but most of all, loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
