WATERLOO - Kenneth Earl Hendricks, 87, of Waterloo, died Sunday, July 5, 2009, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

He was born Dec. 3, 1921, in Fairfield, son of Earl and Gertrude Haynes Hendricks. He married Ruth McGreer on Dec. 26, 1941, in Memphis, Mo.

Mr. Hendricks was employed as an auto parts manager and insurance salesman before retiring. He also was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving in World War II.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Ronald Dean (Diane) of Monticello and Gerald Russell (Laurene) of Des Moines; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a brother, Donald Keith; and a sister, Donna Marie Kelly.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, with burial in Waterloo Cemetery. Public visitation for an hour before services Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the family or charity of the donor's choice.
