CEDAR FALLS - Betty J. Nehmer, 81, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, May 22, 2014, at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital, Waterloo.

She was born Dec. 9, 1932, in Mauston, Wis., daughter of William and Lennie Downing Babcock. She married Daniel E. Nehmer on May 10, 1952, in Menomonee Falls, Wis. He died Jan. 18, 2009.

She worked as a tax assessor for the city of Milwaukee.

Survived by a son, Daniel (Clara) of Hudson; a daughter, Lori (Henry) Czajkowski of Franklin, Wis.; three grandchildren; and a brother, Floyd Babcock of Mauston, Wis.

Memorial Mass: 5 p.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, preceded by an hour of visitation, with inurnment at a later date in Union Grove Cemetery, Harshaw, Wis.

Memorials may be directed to the St. Patrick School Building Fund.
