WATERLOO - Mary D. Caldwell, 85, of 1432 Glenny Ave., died Monday, Sept. 5, 2005, at Allen Hospital.

She was born Sept. 17, 1919, in Muskogee County, Okla., daughter of Joseph and Grace Huffman Bradley. She married Fred N. Caldwell on Dec. 9, 1941, in St. Charles, Mo. He died Oct. 19, 1976.

Mrs. Caldwell worked as a clerk at Sears in Waterloo for many years.

Survivors include a son, Brad (Ginny) Caldwell of Mission Viejo, Calif.; a daughter, Nancy (Mike) Hoppe of Waterloo; two granddaughters, Melanie Caldwell of Newport Beach, Calif., and Wendy (Ken) Miller of Saugatuck, Mich.; two grandsons, Neal Caldwell of Mission Viejo and Joel Hoppe of Horsham, Pa.; and a great-granddaughter, Lauren Caldwell Miller.

Preceded in death by her parents.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home.
