WATERLOO - James C. "Jim" Lyon, 92, of Waterloo, died May 6, 2014, at UnityPoint Health - Allen Hospital.

He was born Feb. 17, 1922, in Waterloo, son of Clifton and Mabel Robertson Lyon. He married Pauline "Polly" Dryden on Aug. 11, 1953, in Waterloo; she died Jan. 11, 2014.

Jim graduated from Waterloo East High School and served in the U.S. Air Force in China during World War II. He worked in sales at Waterloo Steel & Equipment.

Survived by a sister, Maybeth Dickenson of Cedar Falls; and a brother, Clayton of Waterloo.

Family directed memorial services: 11 a.m. Friday at Friendship Village Chapel, 600 Park Lane, preceded by an hour of visitation. Arrangements by Kearns Funeral Service Inc.

Memorials may be directed to Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church.
