Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Grace United Methodist Church for Sheldon Kaiser, 72, of 6030 Dysart Rd. who died at, St. Franci Hospital Monday at 9:05 a.m of acute leukemia. Friends may call at Kearns-Dykeman Chapel after 7 p.m. Tuesday and those who wish may contribute to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children in Minneapolis, Minnesota in his name.

He was born July 23, 1899 in La Porte City, the son of Phillip and Carrie Stirm Kaiser and was married to Elsie Baker on Feb. 8, 1924, in Dysart. He was an agriculturist and had lived here since 1939 coming from La Porte City.

Mr. Kaiser was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and was treasurer of the board of trustees at the time of his death. He had been an active layman and had served in various offices of the church. He was a member of the Trowel Lodge No. 216 A.F. & A.M., of La Porte City.

He is survived by his wife; one son, Norman, of Clear Lake; two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Smith of Des Moines and Mrs. Donald Baustian of Keokuk; five brothers, Phillip of La Porte City, Jennings of Aurora, Letson of Los Angeles, Calif., Paul of Allison, Charon of Greene; one sister, Mrs. Mabel Baylor of Clearwater, Fla., and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by is parents, one son in 1955, two sisters and one brother.
