WATERLOO - Joe Barnes Jr., 70, of 115 Gable St., died Sunday, Aug. 28, 2005, at Allen Hospital emergency room; cause of death pending an autopsy report.

He was born June 28, 1935, in Goodman, Miss., son of Joseph Sr. and Fannie Nelson Barnes. He married Lenora Scott in Waterloo, and they later divorced.

Mr. Barnes was formerly employed at John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works.

Survivors include two brothers, Robert Lee of Waterloo and Jerry of Burnham, Ill.; and four sisters, Della Marston and Dorothy (Irister) Ambrose, both of Waterloo, Alberta (Field) Cole of Chicago and Bessie Smith of Calumet City, Ill.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Leroy and Jim; and a sister, Mae Freeman.

Graveside services: noon Saturday at Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday and 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Sanders Funeral Service.

Memorials may be directed to the family at 1042 Logan Ave., where they will receive friends.
