LA PORTE CITY - Dena M. Hardy, 65, of La Porte City, died Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, of a heart attack.

She was born May 24, 1948, in Waterloo, daughter of Alfred and Retta Eaves Richmond. She married William Hardy III on Dec. 1, 1967, in Galena, Ill.

Dena was a 1966 graduate of Waterloo East High School and most recently was employed in the bond department at VGM, Waterloo.

Survived by her husband; three sons, Bret (Mo) of Waterloo, Richard of Mount Auburn and Bryce of La Porte City; six grandchildren, Zach, Mitch, Broc and Jordan Hardy, and Brittney and Morgan Doland; and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Roy Richmond.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Monday at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel. Visitation from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday and an hour before services Monday at the chapel.

Memorials in lieu of flowers, may be directed to the family.
