Clark C. Wood, 67, of Marion, formerly of Traer, died at home Tuesday, May 13, 2014.

He was born Sept. 9, 1946, in Waterloo, son of J.C. and Ruth I. Bowen Wood. On Dec. 22, 1967, he married Pat Whitcomb at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Reinbeck.

Clark graduated from Traer High School in 1964, and then began working for the Vokoun Motor Co. In 1974 he worked for Ray Holst Inc. and then spent 38 years working for John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works. In 1970 he became a volunteer fireman with the Traer Fire Department and was fire chief from 1983 to 1988. He also was a member of Masonic Lodge Hisperia 340, Traer.

Survived by his wife; three daughters, Lynda Bowen and Summer (Jimmie) Wood, both of Marion, and Casey Wood of Traer; two granddaughters, Miranda Bowen and Jayla Miller; a brother, Neal (Kathy) of Traer; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Overton Funeral Home, Traer, with a 4 p.m. Striking the Four Fives Fireman Ceremony.
