WATERLOO - Loureene A. Lord, 88, of Waterloo, died Thursday April 7, 2005, at the Western Home Communities, Cedar Falls, of natural causes.

She was born Oct. 20, 1916, in Quasqueton, daughter of LeRoy and Anna Johnson Glenn. She married Melvin Geiger, and they were later divorced. She married Jim D. Lord on Nov. 6, 1963, in Long Beach, Calif. He died Aug. 16, 2001.

Mrs. Lord worked as a machine operator for Kent Krafts, Long Beach, Calif., for six years and was a homemaker later in life.

Survived by a grandson, Michael Geiger of Fontana, Calif.

Preceded in death by a son, Jack LeRoy Geiger.

There will be no services or visitation due to her wishes for her body to be cremated and scattered at sea at a later date. Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to Walnut Court Retirement Community in Waterloo.
