CEDAR FALLS - Melba L. Masters, 85, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Fredericksburg and Waterloo, died Saturday, April 15, 2006, at the Western Home Communities.

She was born Aug. 11, 1920, in Fredericksburg, daughter of Louis J. and Lydia S. Mohling Jarchow. She married Donald E. Masters on Sept. 4, 1941, in Fredericksburg. He died June 14, 2005.

Mrs. Masters graduated from high school in Fredericksburg in 1938 and later graduated from Pitze's Beauty School, Waterloo, with a Certificate of Cosmetology. She was briefly employed with Pitze#,s in Waterloo after graduation and later opened her own beauty salon in Fredericksburg, called Miladies. She also worked for Black#,s Beauty Salon in Waterloo. She and her husband farmed in Fredericksburg for 10 years.

Survivors include two daughters, Ruth Ann (Paul) Daugherty of Cedar Falls and Janice Scobee of Milan, Mo.; four grandchildren. nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Order of the Eastern Star service: 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Western Home Chapel, with public visitation for an hour before. Visitation also 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home, followed by committal services in Rose Hill Cemetery, both in Fredericksburg.
