EVANSDALE - Harold Irvin Oliver, 80, of Evansdale, died Thursday, May 8, 2014, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home of natural causes

He was born Jan. 25 1934, in Rockford, Ill., son of Bridget O’Day Oliver. On Aug. 23, 1956, he married Ruth Ann Miller.

Harold worked for John Deere, retiring after 31 years of service. He then worked at All-Stop Car Wash in Waterloo.

Survived by four daughters, Pam Oliver and Patricia (Jeffrey) Dotson, both of Waterloo, Teresa (Brian) Thompson of Evansdale and Rhonda (Wade) Wiese of New Hartford; two sons, Harold Jr. (Glenda) and James (Marvolene), both of Evansdale; 13 grandchildren, Joshua Oliver, Isiah Oliver, Kortni Oliver, Kelli Oliver, Johnathon Thompson, Michael Thompson, Meghan Thompson, Brandon Dean, Curtis Breitbach, Lana Dotson, Skyler Wirtz, Patrick Oliver and Alex Oliver; four great-grandchildren, Dylan, Tatum, Caylor and Logan; two brothers, Les and Jerry; and a sister, Elsie Barrett.

Preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Stacey Jo Oliver, in childhood; and a brother Don.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, with burial in Waterloo Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the chapel and also for an hour before services Tuesday.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.

Harold enjoyed hunting, golfing, stock car racing and fishing with his home made jigs. He loved his Irish heritage and even traveled to Dublin to walk in the footsteps of his ancestors. Most of all, he enjoyed watching his grandchildren in their sporting activities.
