CEDAR FALLS - VerJean A. Johnson, 84, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, May 10, 2014, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

She was born Nov. 22, 1929, in Allison, daughter of Fred and Matilda Kramer Schrage. She married John A. Johnson on Dec. 12, 1948,in Allison.

VerJean graduated from Allison High School in 1947. She and her husband began farming on his parents’ farm north of Kesley, and then moved to a farm north of Parkersburg.

Survived by her husband; a son, Jeff (Carol) of Rosemount, Minn.; three daughters, Sandi (Jim) Meinders of Allison, Marsha (Jeff) Hanson of Cedar Falls and Wendi (David) Yeager of Denver, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Floyd (Evelyn) Schrage; and two sisters, Muriel Dix and Shirley Sutherland.

Preceded in death by an infant son, Jon Timothy; a son-in-law, Bob Kluiter; two grandchildren; a great-grandson; and a brother, Verlyn Schrage.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in Bethel Reformed Church Cemetery, Aplington. Visitation from 9 a.m. until services Tuesday at the church. Richardson Funeral Service is assisting the family.

Memorials may be directed to Lampost Theatre or Guatemalan Diapers Mission.
