WATERLOO - Diane Fay Jondle, 80, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at Covenant Medical Center of natural causes.

She was born Feb. 27, 1934, in Reinbeck, daughter of Elmer and Ruby Dirks Verly. She married Calvin J. Jondle on March 18, 1961 in Waterloo; he preceded her in death on Nov. 3, 2007.

She graduated from Waterloo West High School and attended Prairie Bible College in Canada. She was a homemaker and a caretaker to her husband.

Survived by two daughters, Dawn (Joe) Deeds and Debbie (Jeremy) Morgan, both of Waterloo; five grandchildren, Jeremy (Lyndsey) Deeds of Fort Collins, Colo., Josh (Laura) Deeds, Elizabeth Deeds and Wesley Prunty, all of Waterloo, and Zach Prunty of Osage; six great-grandchildren, Arianna, William, Aislyn and Elenya Deeds of Colorado and Drew and Jackson of Waterloo; and two brothers, John (Deb) Verly of Marco Island, Fla., and Bob (Pam) Verly of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Gary Verly.

Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Unity Presbyterian Church (1149 Hammond Ave.) with burial in Elmwood Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel and also for an hour before services Friday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

She loved spending time with her family, doing crafts and riding her scooter. She didn’t let her handicap limit her from enjoying life. She is in heaven now with her Savior Jesus Christ.
