WATERLOO - Nancy "Emma Nan" LaMotte, 88, of Boone, formerly of Waterloo, died Monday, June 22, 2009 at her daughter's home in New Sharon.

She was born July 2, 1920, in Marvin, Mo., daughter of Robert "Frank" and Lenora Scott Crane. On Jan. 28, 1940, she married the Rev. Gerald LaMotte at the United Methodist Church, Tama. He died in December 2007.

Following graduation from Tama High School, Mrs. LaMotte attended business school in Kansas City. She was a member of United Methodist Church.

Survived by two sons, Jerry III (Marcia) of Imperial, Mo., and Robert M. of Springfield, Ill.; a daughter, Connie L. (Gary) Alexander of New Sharon; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Doris Devine of Tucson, Ariz.

Preceded in death by two daughters, an infant and Beverly LaMotte Hupp; a son, Paul; a granddaughter; a great-grandson; and seven sisters.

Services: 1 p.m. Friday at Stark-Welin Chapel, Boone, followed by cremation and inurnment at a later date in Oak Hill Cemetery, Tama. Public visitation from 11 a.m. until services Friday at the chapel.
