WATERLOO - Arlene B. Stephens, 66, of ManorCare Health Services, formerly of Camp Hill, Pa., died Saturday, June 4, 2005, at Covenant Medical Center.

She was born July 18, 1938, in East Stroudsberg, Pa., daughter of Donald Carlos Buells and Earlmond Brallier Byers. She married Rodney Lee Stephens on Oct. 1, 1960, in Harrisburg, Pa. He died Nov. 5, 1984.

Mrs. Stephens graduated from Harrisburg East High School in 1956 and later became a certified nursing assistant. She was a CNA in Harrisburg, Houston, Texas, and Waterloo for a short time, working in Lakeview Lodge. She was a member of West Shore Baptist Church, Camp Hill.

Survived by a son, Thomas (Jody Goldsberry) Stephens of Waterloo; a daughter, Lee Ann (Donnie) Shomper of Halifax, Pa.; two grandchildren, Claire Elizabeth Stephens and Levi Thomas Stephens; a sister, Vivian (Pastor Ron) Weimer of Waterloo; a brother-in-law, John Veevaete of Bourbon, Ind.; her stepmother, Ethel Valentine of Litchfield Park, Ariz.; her mother-in-law, Allene Stoyka of Ebensburg, Pa.; two nephews, Jim (Erin) Weimer of Jesup and Jason (Doni) Weimer of Waterloo; and a niece, Amy (Scott) Blakesley of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a sister, Donna.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Locke Funeral Home, with burial in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle, Pa. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
