WATERLOO - Ervin L. Strottman, 84, of Waterloo, died Saturday, May 3, 2014, at ManorCare Nursing and Rehab Center.

He was born Oct. 31, 1929, in Readlyn, son of Herman and Helen Weidemeier Strottman. He married Darlene M. Kremer on June 6, 1956, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lamont.

Ervin was employed at Waterloo Industries as a setup man in the welding department.

Survived by his wife; four daughters, Debbie Strottman of Waterloo, Lori Strottman and Kelly Strottman, both of Des Moines, and Sheryl (Joe) Rojas of Townsend, Dela.; five grandchildren, Kerrianne, Alicia and Marisa Rojas, Jazmynn Hutchings and Javon Williams; and a brother, Skip (Barbara) of Sun City, Ariz.

Preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Harold, Earl and Lloyd; and four sisters, Florence, Roxie, Esther and Berniece.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with inurnment at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street. Visitation also for an hour before services Thursday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church, Cedar Valley Humane Society or UnityPoint Hospice.
