WATERLOO - Helen Leanna Cunningham, 79, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home of cancer.

She was born Dec. 28, 1926, in Des Moines, daughter of Willis and Mary Mutz Meyers Bobzien. She married Joseph Cunningham on July 24, 1947, in Illinois, and they later divorced.

Ms. Cunningham lived in Hialeah, Fla., for many years, where she managed a trailer park and later had a day care center in her home. She returned to Waterloo in 1971. Before retiring, she worked for 13 years at the Black Hawk County Court House snack bar. Over the years she belonged to the Iowa Council for the Blind, as well as the Eagles, The Moose and TOPS.

Survivors include a son; Dale of Waterloo; and a stepbrother, Craig (Martha) Bobzien of Waverly.

Preceded in death by an infant son, Danny Joe; and her parents.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Methodist Church, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street. Friends may call for an hour before services Friday at the church.
