WATERLOO - Marie S. Wente, 99, of Waterloo, died Monday, May 16, 2005, at the Ravenwood Nursing & Rehab Center of natural causes.

She was born Jan. 17, 1906, in Bremer County, daughter of Henry and Mary Bergman Brase. She married Leslie John Wente on Nov. 24, 1935, at St. John Lutheran Church, Western Douglas. He died in February 1987.

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley J. Kolash of Waterloo; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Erwin and Harold Brase; and three sisters, Adella Weidemann, Lucille Brase and Margaret Bergstrom.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with burial in Garden of Memories. Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Garden View Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
