IN THE PRIME OF LIFE

AL FENTIMAN ANSWERED DEATH SUMMONS SUNDAY AFTERNOON AT 2:00 O'CLOCK

FUNERAL ON WEDNESDAY

HAD BEEN AILING FOR TWO YEARS WITH LIVER TROUBLE - WAS A VOLUNTEER FIREMAN

Albert Edward Fentiman died at 2:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon after an illness of two or three years of liver complaint. He passed away at the family home, 32 Cascaden Place, surrounded by his wife and children. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon.

The trouble that caused the death of Mr. Fentiman came upon him about two years ago, but in so slight a form that he was not much troubled with it except at intervals. For the past few weeks, however, he had been confined to home.

A. E. Fentiman was born February 24, 1863, and was 42 years old. He was born in Illinois where he resided during his childhood days, when he removed with his parents to Iowa. He first setteled on a farm near Waterloo, Where he remained untill his marriage to a young lady in Dunkerton about fourteen years ago. At that time he cultivated a farm near Dunkerton, and thirteen years ago came to Waterloo. He took employment with W. H. Bachman for a year and then entered the employ of Schiel & Corson, hardware merchants. He remained with that firm about ten years and then went to Oklahoma to live on a farm. At the end of the year, his trouble came upon him in so severe a form that he removed to Waterloo. He took employment with the Great Western railway as freight handler and was with that company at the time of death.

Mr. Fentiman was strong and robust and apparently healthy man and his death will come as great surprise to many who had judged him by his physical appearance. His employers speak of him as most faithful and conscientious workman who never shirked a duty no matter how irksome the task might be. He was a member of the Yeomen and the Modern Woodmen of America, and for nine years was a member of the volunteer fire department. At the time the paid department was installed, he was given an honorable discharge.

The surviving relatives are the widow, two sons and two daughters: Anida, Izella, Harold and Albert. Three brothers, two sisters and the father and mother survive.

Funeral services over the remains of the late Al Fentiman will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the home in Cascaden Place. Rev. Callen will officiate. The Yeomen and M. W. A. will attend in a body. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery.
