WATERLOO - Leonard Hubrig, 79, of Waterloo, died at home Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005, of natural causes.

He was born Nov. 20, 1925, in Eagle Bend, Minn., son of Ewald and Bertha Stevenson Hubrig. He married Margaret Esser on April 2, 1948, in Perham, Minn.

Mr. Hubrig worked as the service manager for General Truck and Leasing, retiring in 1992, and had served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the First Congregational Church and was a 32nd degree Mason.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Dennis and Scott (Pam), both of Waterloo, and Steve of Laredo, Texas; two daughters, Nancy Fairbanks and Jayne (Dennis) Slaughter, both of Waterloo; eight grandchildren, Jason (Jennifer) Hubrig, Joshua (Jennifer) Hubrig, Brock (Jennifer) Fairbanks, Laura (Peter) Kockelkorn, Jennifer Sapp, Jill (Levi) Sires, Jodi (Shane) Reisner and Ian (Amy) Hubrig; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his mother.

Memorial services: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff- Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today and for an hour before services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
