WATERLOO - Julia “Judy” Letchford, 88, of Waterloo, died Sunday, April 13, 2014, at Rosewood Estates from complications of Alzheimer's Disease.

She was born May 31, 1925, in Manchester, daughter of Eugene and Elma Robinson Maire. She married Truman Wilson on April 22, 1946, and they later divorced. She married LeRoy Lathrop in 1966 and they later divorced. She married Leon Letchford in 1971 and they later divorced.

Judy moved to Waterloo and worked for Peterson’s Greenhouse. During World War II she was hired as a temporary employee at John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works, and after the war she worked for Hinson Manufacturing for a couple of years. She went back to work for John Deere in 1955 and remained there for almost 28 years, retiring in 1982 as a supervisor in tractor repair. She was a member of Presbyterian Church, Manchester.

Survived by a son, Greg (Sheila) Wilson of Waterloo; a daughter, Susann Risse of Burnsville, Minn.; two grandchildren, Kevin Wilson and Ryan (Mindy) Wilson, both of Waterloo; five great-grandchildren, Alexus Wilson, Alayna Amling, Sydney Wilson, Bennett Wilson, Kallie Wilson, and one on the way; a brother, Mark Maire of California; a sister, Darlene Fender of California; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Brad Wilson; four brothers, Herman, Herbert, Burdette and Eugene Maire; and three sisters, Beulah Graham, Evelyn Frey and Pauline Maire.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel.

A memorial fund is being established.
