DUNKERTON - Marjorie Emeline Shimp, 105, of the Western Home, Cedar Falls, formerly of Dunkerton, died Tuesday, March 29, at the home of natural causes.

She was born April 11, 1899, in Dunkerton, daughter of William H. and Anna Beehner Shimp.

Ms. Shimp was the oldest living alumni of St. Marys High School, Waterloo, graduating in 1917. She was employed as a secretary at Waterloo Saddlery Co. from 1918 to 1931 and was a secretary for the Dunkerton Community School District from 1951 to 1965.

She and her sister were indoctrinated into the Columbus Hall of Fame Nov. 14, 1998.

Survivors include a sister, Mertie E. Shimp of Western Home in Cedar Falls; a cousin, Jack (Kathleen) Shimp of Waterloo; and several cousins.

Preceded in death by her parents.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis Catholic Church, Barclay, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also one hour prior to services at the church Thursday.

Memorials may be directed to the church.
