WATERLOO - Zoe Vonceil Skeel, 83, of Iowa City, formerly of Waterloo, died Friday, Oct. 7, 2005, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, from complications of Alzheimers disease.

She was born Nov. 18, 1921, in Detroit, Mich. She married Rex Skeel. He died in 1986.

Mrs. Skeel was a graduate of East Waterloo High School and had served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. She had been employed at KXEL radio station

Survivors include three daughters, Kathy of Salt Lake City, Utah, Jacklyn of Williamsburg and Paula of Iowa City; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Cozette MacNamee of Waterloo, Nancy Purdy of Shelbyville, Ind., and Aseneth (Casey) Nelson of Rock Island, Ill.

Preceded in death by a brother, Gilbert (Buddy) Clemons.

Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids, where friends may call for an hour before. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, New Hartford.
