WATERLOO - Patricia Ann “Pat” Christensen, 73, died peacefully on Monday, April 7, 2014, at Rosewood Estates, Waterloo. She was born in West Lafayette, Ind., on Jan. 22, 1941.

Pat graduated from Ames High School in 1959 and from the University of Iowa with a teaching degree in 1963. She and her husband, Ross Christensen, were married in 1962, but later lived and raised a family in Waterloo from 1968 until their deaths. Her primary dedication was to her husband and three children, and later, 10 grandchildren, although she did find time to enjoy her church, book club, travels, and job as marketing manager of Heartland Inn.

Survivors include her son, Greg Christensen (Danette) of Waterloo and their five children, Ashlyn, Ben, Seth, Andrew and Anna; her daughter, Lisa Kempston (David) of Eden Prairie, Minn., and their four children, Alex (Franki, an unborn child), Brennan, Kate and Connor; her granddaughter, Allison Martyr of Estherville; and her sister, Carmen Pezzullo (Vincent) of Philadelphia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Damon Catron; her brother, Duane Catron; her husband, Ross Christensen; and her daughter, Sheryl Christensen-Martyr.

Services are 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 13, at Cedar Heights Baptist Church, Cedar Falls, followed by a dessert reception. A private burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Okoboji.

Memorials can be directed to the Cedar Valley Arboretum and Botanical Gardens.
