WATERLOO - Harold H. Steege, 93, of Lansing, formerly of Waterloo, died Sunday, April 6, 2014, at Thorton Manor Nursing Center, Lansing.

He was born March 3, 1921, in Readlyn, son of Fred and Caroline Moeller Steege. He married Virginia Gehring on July 18, 1943, in Waverly; she died March 18, 1986.

Harold farmed in the Dunkerton and Waverly area and later worked for Mead Containers, Waterloo, for 32 years, retiring in 1984.

Survived by a son, Ron (Betty) of Harpers Ferry; a daughter, Barbara (Don) DeMark of Bedford, N.H.; three grandchildren, Dawn (Andrew) Buik, Mindy (Pat) Giesler and Andrew (Amanda) Steege; four great-grandchildren, Jeremiah and Emma Giesler, and Landon and Lincoln Steege; three stepgreat-grandchildren, Brittany Warta, Tyler and Patrick Giesler; and a sister, Ruth Robinson of League City, Texas.

Preceded in death by his parents; and 10 siblings.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Faith Lutheran Church, with burial in Garden of Memories, both in Waterloo. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, and an hour before services Friday at the church.
