Prayer services for Mrs. Eva A. Jones, 78, 2424 Fourth Street East, who died at 2:50 p; m. Thursday at her home, of apoplexy and complicaions, will be at the home at 11 a.m. Saturday, with Rev. H. C. Travis, pastor of Grace Methodist Episcopal Church, officiating.

The body will be taken by motor to Shellsburg, Ia., where funeral services will be held in the Community Church, formerly the Baptist Church, at 2 p. m. Burial will be in the family lot in Fairview Cemetery there.

Eva Anna Burdick was born Nov. 29, 1854, at Williamstown, Mass., the daughter of Lyman and Elizabeth S. Burdick. When she was a child she moved with her parents to Illinois, living there about three years. When she was 5, her parents came to Cedar Rapids, Ia., and the family loated on a farm near Shellsburg, where she grew to young womanhood.

She was married June 28, 1876, to Frank Jones, at Shellsburg, where the couple lived until Mr. Jones' dleath in 1922. Mrs. Jones had made her home in Waterloo for the past eight years. She was a member of Grace Church.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. O. B. Severson, Denver, Colo.; Mrs. Goerge W. DeWald, 418 Walnut Court Apartments, and Mrs. A. F. Miller, 2424 Fourth Street, East; one son, Benjamin E. Jones, Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren; two brothers, George L. Burdick, Gainsborough, Ga., and Arnold L. Burdick, Iowa City, Ia.; and two sisters, Mrs. L. L. Tarpening, Cedar Falls, and Mrs. E. C. Esget, Springfield, Ill.

All of her children except Mrs. Severson were present at her bedside when she died. Mrs. Severson was unable to be here on account of illness.

Mrs. Jones was preceded in death also by two daughters, Lillian in 1913 and Julia Elizabeth in 1883, and by one son, Frank Lyman, in 1891.

The body was taken to the Kearns Funeral Home.
