CEDAR FALLS - June M. Spier Bailey, 89, of Cedar Falls died Friday, Jan. 6, 2006, at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home.

She was born June 9, 1916, in Shell Rock, daughter of Elmer and Mabel Hennis Kublank. She married Elmer Spier June 30, 1936, in Waverly. He died Feb. 5, 1971. She married Gordon Bailey June 30, 1973, and he died Aug. 16, 1974.

She attended grade school in Shell Rock and graduated from Shell Rock High School. She and her first husband made their home in Waverly, where they owned and operated a restaurant. They later moved to Waterloo and then Cedar Falls where she did book work for her husbands business, Spier Construction Company.

She attended Gates College and obtained her real estate license, selling real estate from 1958 to 1974. She and her second husband moved to Colorado and owned and operated J & G Pioneer Bar and Lounge, Walsenburg, Colo.

Survived by a son, Gary (Tammy) Spier of Janesville; four grandchildren, Kimberly (Jim) Girres, Kent (Tanya) Spier and Wendy (Rick) Mobley, all of Cedar Falls, and Mike Spier of Maricopa, Ariz.; and five great-grandchildren, Ryan and Megan Martinez, Justin and Jena Spier and Makenze Mobley.

Preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Elmer and Gordon; two brothers, Max Kublank and Warren Kublank; and a sister, Geraldine Renning.

Services: 1 p.m. Monday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Shell Rock. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
