CEDAR FALLS -- Alma Vera Wurzbach, 87, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

She was born Nov. 16, 1926, in Pittsburgh, daughter of Author and Pauline Schweinsberg Seifert. She married Braden Souders, and they later divorced. She married Clemons Wurzbach at the VA Hospital, Dayton, Ohio; he preceded her in death.

Alma worked in hospital administration, hotel management and retail sales.

Survived by two daughters, Claudia (Ray Zetterlund) Souders of Pinetop, Ariz., and Betsy (Sharon Anway) Zan of Cedar Falls; two grandchildren, Trinity (Kobie Nettles) Zan and Allison Zan; and two great-grandchildren, Xavier and Pax Zan-Nettles.

Preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Steven and Mark Souders; a brother, William Seifert; and two sisters, Betty Franks and Dorothea Evans.

Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at NewAldaya Lifescapes, preceded by an hour of visitation. Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, Waterloo, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to hospice or humane society of donor's choice.

Alma enjoyed dancing the jitter bug, reading, singing hymns and playing Scrabble. Alma, known as “Mums,” focused her life on being a mother to all –- friends as well as family.
