EVANSDALE - Francis J. "Frank" Lane, 77, Evansdale, died Sunday, August 25, 1991, at Colonial Manors, La Porte City.

He was born June 21, 1914, in Chrisman, IL, the son of John M. and Hattie B. Hurst Lane. He married Ruth E. Phelps December 31, 1934, in Vinton.

He worked as a carpenter for Charles Mauser for nine years and for the John Deere Company for 18 years, retiring in 1977.

He is survived by his wife; one son, William F., Overland Park, KS; one daughter, Norma Jean Parsons, Waterloo; two sisters, Lucille Long of Waterloo, and Bea Tyks of Elk Hart, IN; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Curtis and Paul; two sisters, Ollie Bell Orlea and Margaret Good.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 30, at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the chapel.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
