CEDAR FALLS - Vetra Arvilla Brown, 78, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at Covenant Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 26, 1935, in Waterloo, daughter of Wilber and Iva Newman Ewalt. She married Donald Brown on July 17, 1955 at Barclay United Presbyterian Church.

Vetra graduated from Jesup High School in 1954.

Survived by her husband; three sons, Michael (Stephanie) Brown of Jesup, Scott (Tami) Brown of Sydney, Australia; Randall (Donna) Brown of Mountain Home, Ark.; a daughter, Donna Brown of Cedar Falls; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Joanie Brown and Sanda Brown.

Preceded in death by a sister, Vivian Smith; and four brothers, Mack, Marlin, Mervin and Melvin Ewalt.

Private family services have been held. Locke Funeral Home, Inc., Waterloo, was in charge of arrangements.
