WATERLOO -- Heather Michele Brincks, 36, of Washburn, died Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at Allen Hospital in Waterloo.

She was born Aug. 29, 1969, in Ottumwa, the daughter of Richard and Cheryl McFarling Hart. She married Darin Brincks on March 16, 2002, in Waterloo.

Heather graduated from Waterloo West High School and then with high honors from the University of Northern Iowa with degrees in Home Economics and Early Childhood Education. She was employed with Advance Auto Parts in commercial sales. She was a part-time substitute teacher and had been a pre-school teacher at Community United Child Care.

She was a member of Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church. Heather enjoyed playing softball, which she started playing in the fourth grade. She was also a band and orchestra member throughout her years at West High and enjoyed music and was an avid reader of both children's and adult books. She enjoyed working, shopping, scrapbooking, photography, crafts, card making and racing and most of all spending time with family and friends. She was a kind and loving person.

Survivors include her husband, Darin of Washburn; a son, Elliott John Brincks of Washburn; her parents of Waterloo; her father and mother-in-law, LeRoy and Thelma Brincks of Washburn; a brother, Brett (Mindy) Hart of Waverly; a sister-in-law, Debbie (Mark) Schaefer of Waukesha, Wis.; her paternal grandmother, Opal Hart of Winterset; four nieces, Emma and Elleri Schaefer and McKenna and Maggie Hart; and a nephew, Tucker Hart.

Preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, George Hart; and her maternal grandparents, Willis and Hazel McFarling.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church, Waterloo, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Gilbertville. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway. Visitation will also continue for an hour prior to the services on Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Heather was a loving wife, mother, daughter, aunt and friend.
