Mrs. Annie Kemp, 85, died Wednesday at 11 p. m. in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Kathryn Maricle, 1015 West Fifth street, from complications incident to advanced age.

Born Mar. 17, 1861, at Kenosha, Wis., she was the daughter of Nicholas and Kathryn Frost. When she was four years old the family moved to Cedar Township and she remained there the rest of her life.

She was married to Nicholas Kemp on Aug. 28, 1886, at Eagle Center, Ia.

Mrs. Kemp was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Gilbertville, Ia., and of the rosary society of the church.

Survivors include seven sons: Peter L., Arthur, N. D., Henry N., 116 Oak Lawn Avenue, William H., 116 Clay street. Lee P., 433 Vermont Street, Herbert, 29 Williston Avenue, Albert N., Lansing, Ill., and Francis W., Roberts, Wis.; one daughter, Mrs. Maricle; three stepsons: Nicholas, Jr., 1003 Wellington Street. John, Route 1, Waterloo, and Joseph, Tacoma, Wash. Also surviving are three brothers, Peter, William and Nicholas, all of La Porte City, la.; five sisters: Mrs. Kathryn Brustkern, Mrs Rose Le Jaeger, Mrs. Mary Michaels and Elizabeth, all of Gilbertville, and Mrs. Lena Gales, La Porte City; 27 grandchildren, and 29 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, who died at Washburn, Ia., in 1910, and by one sister.

The body was taken to O'Keefe & Towne Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
