WATERLOO - Jean L. Roth, 72, of 1028 Oregon St., died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2005, at Allen Hospital of a massive heart attack.

She was born Nov. 14, 1932, in Sauk Centre, Minn., daughter of Edward and Mabel Doyle Steege. She married George Roth April 9, 1953, at Christ Episcopal Church, Waterloo. She graduated from East High School in 1950 and also took a course at Hawkeye Tech. She was a great lover of sports.

Survived by her husband; a son, Daniel of Waterloo; a daughter, Debra J. (Michael) Brooks of Gunnison, Colo.; three grandchildren, Kevin, Nina and Derck Brooks; and a sister, Mabel "Jimmie" (Arthur) Ecklund of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by her parents; a twin sister, Geraldine Ann Pekrul; a brother-in-law, Arthur Pekrul; and a grandson, Eric Brooks.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity Episcopal Church, with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, and for an hour before services Monday at the church.

Memorials may be given in her name to the family.
