John Patrick "Pat" Trainor of 104 4th Street in Hudson, died of cancer Tuesday, December 16, 1997, at Covenant Medical Center.

He was born April 14, 1927 in Waterloo to James Henry and Grace Gertrude Gates Trainor. On November 20, 1949, he married Lois I. Michaels in Waterloo. He operated several service stations and later worked for Donovan International Trucks and the Hudson Community Schools, retiring in 1988.

He is survived by his wife, Lois, of Hudson; sons: John Patrick Jr., of Wichita, Kansas, Michael of Waterloo, and Larry of Bensonville, Illinois; daughters, Linda Heidemann and Paula Nelson, both of Hudson; a brother, James Henry Trainor Sr., of McGregor; a sister, Sylvia Neesen of Waterloo; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Grace Thompson and Marylou Weidman.

Services were held at 11:00 Saturday at Community Church in Hudson, and burial was in the Hudson Cemetery, with arrangements being made by the Locke Funeral Home.

A memorial fund will be established.
