Illiad Lynn Walters died at his home, 424 Almond Street, Sunday at 1 p. m. after a few days' illness.

He was born In Girard, Trumble County, O., May 26, 1844,. the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Walters. In 1856 the family moved to Delaware County, Ia., locating at Delhi, later going to Forestville, where the father operated a grist mill in which the son learned the trade of miller.

He enlisted in Co. H, Twenty-first Iowa, and served two years before sickness caused his return. He engaged in the milling business in 1874, when he became connected with the Quaker Mills at Manchester.

In 1910 he came to Waterloo to enter the employ of the W. & C. F. Union Mill Company.

His marriage to Miss Sarah Purdy took place in 1869 at Manchester.Two daughters were born, one dying in infancy, and the other, Mrs. Myrtle Schwager, surviving. Mrs. Walters died in 1876 and in 1880 he was married to Adelaide Story of Anamosa.

Three children were born, two daughters, Mrs. Grace Millard, Montour; Alice Walters, city, and a son, Charles H., Oelwein, and they, with the widow survive. There are also three sisters. Mmes. Marion DuBois and Henrietta Van Kuren and Miss Myra Walters.

Mr. Walters was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, Knights Templar, Mystic Shriners and G. A. R.

Funeral services will be at the residence at 10 a.m. tomorrow, in charge of the Masonic orders. Interment will be at Manchester.

The body was taken to Petersen Brother's Mortuary.
