COBIE, BURKLE, VERMACE, VAGTS

WATERLOO - Barton H. Cobie, 66, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2005, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo.

He was born July 17, 1939, in Ackley, son of Howard and Adeline Burkle Cobie. He married Anna Mary Vermace Jan. 20, 1969, in Sumner.

Mr. Cobie served in the U.S. Army in Germany. He was employed at Viking Pump Co., Cedar Falls, where he worked in the Alloys Foundry for 35 years retiring, April 5, 1999.

Survived by: his wife of Waterloo; a son, Steve of Waterloo; a daughter, Tami (Fred) Vagts of Cannon Falls, Minn.; two grandchildren, Cobie and Casey Vagts; a brother, Bob (Nancy) of Dublin, Ohio; and two brothers-in-law, Karl (Ruth) Vermace of Corpus Christi, Texas and John (Patricia) Vermace of Indianola.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at St. John Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in Waterloo Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.

A memorial fund will be established.
