WATERLOO - Ivan "Vern" Berry, 85, of Waterloo, died Sunday, June 22, 2008, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

He was born Nov. 16, 1922, in Waterloo, son of Howard and Lillian Uhlenhopp Berry. He married Thelma S. Reiners on Dec. 24, 1971.

Mr. Berry was an installer for Overhead Door Company of Waterloo for 30 years until his retirement.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Keith Zabel of California and Stephen (Diana) Zabel of Conesville; two daughters, Vickie (Robert) Haynes of Mountain Grove, Mo., and Carla Wiegmann of Ackley; two brothers, Alvin (Ruth) and Donald (Mildred); eight grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Services: At the request of the family, no services will take place. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street assisted the family with arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to his wife, Thelma, in care of Paul Gaede, 13768 N Ave., Parkersburg 50665.
