IRVINE, MCELHENNY, MCELHINNY, LIGHTFOOT

[Waterloo Evening Courier, Thursday, January 10, 1929, Waterloo, Iowa]

David Irvine, 922 Second Street West, early day resident of Tama County and for 11 years a resident of this city, died this afternoon at the family home. Death was due to influenza, which he contracted two weeks ago.

Deceased was born in Ireland, Jan. 1, 1853, and came to this country in May, 1874, residing for a year in New York City. He then came west, settling in Tama County, where he became a farmer.

The deceased was married twice, his first wife being Phoebe McElhenny*, a Tama County girl, who preceded him in death. In 1904 he married Mrs. Ella Lightfoot at Cedar Rapids, who survives him.

The body was taken to Peterson Bros.' Mortuary.

In Phoebe's death notice her maiden name was spelled McElhinny, and first name was spelled Phebe. Her gravestone also says Phebe.
