MRS. WALTER BARNHART

Mrs. Walter Barnhart, 57, of 1210 West Seventh St., died at 12:30 a. m. Tuesday at Schoitz Memorial Hospital, a few hours after she had suffered a stroke.

She was born La Vonne May Fleek, daughter of Edna M. and Jay G. Fleek on May 1, 1899, on a farm west of Greene, Ia. After graduating from the Greene public schools she attended Iowa State College. She taught school for several years before her marriage.

She was married to Waller Pierce Barnhart on Feb. 24, 1823, at Greene, Ia. Soon after their marriage they moved to Cedar Rapids, where they resided until they moved to Waterloo in 1936, where they have since lived.

Surviving are her husband, 1201 W. 7th St.; one son, Waller Ray Barnhart, 1018 Dundee, and two daughters, Mrs. Lois Eastman, 1829 Byron Ave., and Mrs. Gail Atchison of Wadena, Minn.; one sister, Miss Ruth Fleek, and one brother, Oscar G. Fleek, both of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren, and an aunt, Mrs. John Moorehouse, Greene, Ia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and one brother.

Mrs. Barnhart was a member of the First Methodist Church in Waterloo and of the Rebecca lodge.

Services are pending at the Kearns-Dykeman Chapel.
