Dr. A. N. Stewart was born in Westmorland County, Pa., on March 27, 1853, and died at Rockford, Iowa, April 19, 1924.

In the fall of 1900, Mr. Stewart took up the study of veterinary medicine at Ontario Veterinary College, Toronto, Canada. He completed the required course in 1902, graduating with high scholarship honors. He was accorded the unique honor while a student of the veterinary college, of being chosen president of his class both in his junior and senior years.

Dr. Stewart is survived by his widow, three brothers, J. B., Charles D., and Frank Y. Stewart, all of Waterloo, Iowa, and by numerous other relatives.

Dr. Stewart was a member of the LaPorte City Presbyterian Church, having united with that body when a young man. He was a member of the Modern Woodman and the Court of Honor (Waterloo), and of the local lodge Knights of Pythias.

The host of neighbors and friends in Rockford and Waterloo, and in other parts of the state, will mourn with his relatives the passing of one who was a genial neighbor and a true friend.
