WATERLOO - Francis A. Bisbee, 90, of Waterloo, died at home Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006, of natural causes.

He was born July 23, 1916, in Waterloo, son of William and Lillian Wright Bisbee. He married Florence M. Faley on May 24, 1941. She died June 7, 1992.

Mr. Bisbee graduated from La Porte City High School and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, the Eagles Lodge, a 50-year member of the Moose Lodge and was an avid camper.

Survivors include a daughter, Susan (Ted) Simpson of Waterloo; two sons, William of Cedar Falls and Richard of Seattle, Wash.; two grandchildren, Michael Bisbee and Laura (Matt) Cameron; two great-grandchildren, Paige Bisbee and Taylor Cameron; a brother, Rex (Mary) Bisbee of Waterloo; and one sister, Lois Clute of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by a son, Thomas; two brothers, Earnest and Ben Bisbee; and four sisters, Ruth, Evelyn, Jean and Mildred "Midge."

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Full graveside military rites will be provided by American Legion Post 138 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1623. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Amenity Hospice.
